Applications are open for the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Residency Programme 2019. The Programme offers academics, artists, thought leaders, policymakers, and practitioners a serene setting conducive to focused, goal-oriented work, and the unparalleled opportunity to establish new connections with fellow residents from a wide array of backgrounds, disciplines, and geographies.
The Foundation’s Bellagio Residency Programme has a track record for supporting the generation of important new knowledge addressing some of the most complex issues facing our world, and innovative new works of art that inspire reflection and understanding of global and social issues.
The Bellagio Residency Programme allows selected individuals to spend time at the Center on Lake Como, Italy to work in a conducive setting with the unparalleled opportunity to establish new connections with fellow residents from a stimulating mix of disciplines and geographies during residencies of up to 4 weeks.



Eligibility

The Residencies available are:
  • The Academic Writing Residency: The Academic Writing residency is for university and think tank-based academics, researchers, professors, and scientists working in any discipline. Successful applicants will demonstrate decades of significant professional contributions to their field or show evidence of being on a strong upward trajectory for those earlier in their careers.
  • The Arts & Literary Arts Residency: The Bellagio Center Arts & Literary Arts Residency is for composers, fiction and non-fiction writers, playwrights, video/filmmakers, dancers, musicians, and visual artists who share in The Rockefeller Foundation’s mission of promoting the well-being of humanity around the world and whose work is inspired by or relates to global or social issues.
  • The Practitioner Residency: The Practitioner residency is for senior-level policymakers, nonprofit leaders, journalists, private sector leaders and public advocates with ten or more years of leadership experience in a variety of fields and sectors.
